Collaborative Innovation and Emerging Economies--the driving forces of the new world economy. To achieve their status, emerging economies become skilled innovators, first in assimilating imported technology, then commercializing their own innovations by collaboration with others. Technology transactions are the business of innovation. The LES International Annual Meeting in Sandton, South Africa, will focus on the business of innovation in emerging economies. Virtually all lists of emerging economies include Argentina, Brazil, China, Chile, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.  It is not a coincidence that there is an LES Society in each of those countries. Come join us in South Africa-- learn from experts on innovation and the emerging economies

LES International

Dear Friends,

The 2010 LES International conference will, for the second time in 10 years, take place in South Africa. We are not only privileged but also honored to organize and host it. I am therefore delighted to invite the LES family and all other professionals who deal with, have an interest in and/or wish to learn about the business of commercialization of intellectual property, whether from a collaborative, financial, licensing or legal perspective, in fields as diverse as the automotive industry, life sciences, IT, e-commerce, branding, franchising and the environment to come to South Africa in April 2010, to meet, exchange ideas, debate, network and in general to enjoy yourselves.

Our intentions are to offer an internationally appealing program and social activities to make this journey from all over the world to the southern tip of Africa a most memorable experience.

These are exciting times in Africa and in the ridiculously beautiful South Africa, often referred to as “a world in one country”. Sandton, the centre of finance and business in Africa where the Conference will be hosted, will be in the forefront of the world’s attention for months after we have left being the hub from where the 2010 Soccer World Cup will be directed. As a matter of fact, the day after LES vacates the conference facilities, FIFA will move in to put the final touches to the world spectacle.

Come to South Africa, I guarantee the conference and the experience will be worth it.

We look forward to welcoming you in South Africa.
